Behavior Plan

Students will start each day with a stack of five cubes. The cubes will be connected as shown in the image above. If a student breaks one of the class rules, their top cube will be taken away. If a student still has at least their blue cube by the end of the school day, they will receive a smiley face sticker in their assignment notebook for that day. If a student's top cube is yellow by the end of the day, they will be expected to write a paragraph about how their actions caused them to lose their green and blue cubes. If a student's top cube is orange by the end of the day, an email or note will be sent home to the student's guardian(s). If a student's top cube is red by the end of the day, I will plan a meeting with the student and his or her guardian(s) to discuss the student's behavior. If necessary, I will contact the principal for this meeting, as well.

Positive Reinforcement yes

Students who keep at least their blue cube by the end of every day during the week will earn a prize from the classroom treasure chest on Friday. From this chest, students may choose a sticker, pencil, bookmark, or a token that represents 10 extra minutes of computer time at the end of the day. Students may use their token to play educational games on the computer in the classroom for 10 minutes.
